If you are out and about with your four legged friend then it is always nice to find a café which welcomes them as much as they welcome you. Here are some of our favourite pet friendly cafes for you to check out when out and about.
One of the beauties of having a dog stroller or pushchair is that your four legged pal can go into a lot of cafes without any fuss, but if you want them to get out and stretch their legs then its always best to plan ahead and find a pet friendly café.
These cafes in our list are ones which welcome pets both in and out of strollers and carriers and so both you and your best friend are guaranteed a lovely welcome.

You would be hard pressed to find a cafe or restuarant which gives dogs as much of a welcome as Petersham nurseries does, the staff greet the dogs with as much love and enthusiasm as they would an old friend. Your pal can also be assured of a large bowl of water and any of the michelin starred titbits which might find their way from your plate.
The nurseries are stunning and the cafe and resturants are nestled amongst the plants and flowers creating a truly picturesque environment for a catch up with friends and some of the tastiest food in Richmond. -
Barossa on the trendy Kings Road is the ideal destination to stop off with your stroller and give yourself a rest before hitting the rest of the shops! Their is a delightful courtyard out the back and dogs are always welcome and a bowl of water is availble to quench your little pal’s thirst.
Barossa is an Australian kitchen and has a real Aussie cafe culture vibe which you will love. Completely relaxing with gorgeous baked treats and some of the best tea and coffee around. -
Hollyhocks is a hidden gem which takes some finding, but once you have you will never go anywhere else. Set in the terraced gardens with a view down to the river you would be hard pressed to find as gorgeous a place to while away some time with a pot of tea for you and a bowl of water for him!
The place is delightfully eclectic with japanese parasols, fairy lights, sofas and cane furniture. The baked treats are wonderful, exotic salads, vegetarian quiches and pies and a cream tea with scones to die for.
The cafe feels like you are sitting in a tree house watching the world go by. Dogs are 100% welcome and thanks to it’s location it is a great place to stop off at if you are out walking your furry friend. -
Metrodeco in Brighton is a delight of 1930s glamour right by the seaside. The place is not just dog friendly, it is positively barking mad for dogs!
Dogs are welcome on leads in Metro Deco and they offer some delicious treats from a menu of doggie goodies! These guys will also host a dog party for you and your mutt!
Metrod Deco offers a truly gorgeous afternoon tea which is a delightful and glamourous way to treat yourself and spend time catcing up with your best friends with the reassurance that your very best friend is not missing out on the fun! -
The Retreat in Grassington, Yorkshire is just that – a retreat. Just off the main square in Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales this lovely veggie café is open 6 days a week (closed Wednesdays)
Dogs are welcome at the Retreat, the café itself is a supporter of the local Retreat Animal Rescue Centre and Biffo and Jasper the owners very own dogs are more than likely going to be around when you visit.
If you are exploring the Dales with your dog then make sure you stop off here, and if you want to get a take out then they are only too happy to do some packing up and send you out with some delicious picninc treats for your day.
